Rick and Lisa Snider are lifelong Southern Marylanders who love that generational farms are now becoming wineries instead of housing developments.
Southern Maryland isn’t far from Washington, but it might as well be a million miles given the little attention it gets. While many locals like it that way, Rick and Lisa decided to spotlight the growing wine industry in hopes others will come see the wineries and other great attractions, including some within 30 minutes of Washington.
Rick is a sports columnist with The Washington Post Express and 106.7 The Fan mostly writing about the Washington Redskins. But, he knows a good story when he sees it so SouthernMarylandWine.com was created. Lisa is an award-winning photographer whose work fills the website.
Rick’s also a Washington tour guide if you’d like someone to explain all those marble buildings downtown. He’s a relative of John Wilkes Booth and offers a Lincoln assassination escape tour from Ford’s Theatre through Charles County.
